  1. Foil is produced at a high speed high heat process. Just rip off the first
    few inches the rip off a clean peace. I’ve never had a contaminated spore
    print from foil. No need to play with it. 

  2. In terms of disinfection, I wouldn’t use alcohol but would try peracetic
    acid (PAA). Alcohol kills most of the living microorganisms but is not
    sporocidal. Whatismore, a freshly disinfected area can easily be
    recolonised by microorganisms from the air. PAA on the other hand does not
    evaporate and stays on the surface longer. It is sporocidal, so there is
    virtually no microorganism that will survive after application. The best
    thing is that the molecule is highly unstable and within 24 hours it will
    convert to acetic acid (vinigar basically) which is completely safe. We
    used this method at a shiitake plant with much better results. Not sure if
    you can use PAA on tin foil. I would go for glass. Hope this helps.
